Theropod is a genetically inhanced human being who was created by means of Artificial Dinosaur DNA.

_{...Hey, if they can turn a man into a huge, green leviathan version of himself by means of gamma radiation (i.e. The Hulk), I can damn well turn a human into a dinosaur/human hybrid with "Artificial DNA."}

His name was Maxwell Haydes, and he was on death row for the murder of his family. But the scientists at GenetiCorp (hopefully not a copyrighted name) got dibs on fiddling with his DNA from the local penitentiary and injected an experimental syrum on him containing artificial dinosaur DNA.
After the injection, they threw him in an observitory chamber (those unscrupulous cads), and in about three weeks he began to change. His entire physiology warped into what you see before you. Hair fell out, skin hardened and adopted scales and feathers, teeth sharpened, the works.

Horrified at what he had become, he escaped. Broke right out of his observation cell and fought his way out of the facility. The side effect of the mutation was that his mind began to warp. He had convinced himself that he was the encarnation of what he called the "Theropod King" and his mission was clear: to destroy the outbreak of hairless, upright pests that roamed over a world that he thought was rightfully his.

Summary for those who didn't get that:
A guy named Max is thrown in prison for murder but is handed to a genetics lab as a guinea pig. He's injected with a syrum that turns him into a hybrid of a theropod and a human. He is angry with what he has been turned into and escapes. His mind warps and he now thinks he is king of the Theropods and plans to reclaim the planet in the name of his extinct "brethren."

Edit: Do not try to identify him as a real dinosaur. He's not. He's a collaboration of at least 5 different species of theropods. To prove he's not actually a real species of dinosaur, I gave him long arms, a trait not commonly found in most theropods.
